Oysters and a hot barbecue are a great combo. Don’t ever let anyone tell you different. Sure, grilled oysters look exotic but they’re simple to prepare.
Cooking oysters on your barbecue is not complicated but it is very cool, and you can impress your guests with a gorgeous looking menu full of great flavors.
Your oysters will grill very quickly and you will also be the pro who made such a speedy delicious meal.
Ingredients for Grilled Oysters:
- 3 dozen large oysters
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cups soft butter
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
Preheat your grill to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. While you’re waiting for the grill to heat up, combine all the ingredients except for the oysters in a food processor and pulse.
Lay out the oysters on the grill in one single layer. Add one tablespoon of the mixture to each oyster. Leave the oysters uncovered and grill for 7 minutes or till their edges begin to curl. Finally, remove oysters with a pair of tongs.
Accompany your delectable oysters with chilled shrimp and also some homemade cocktail sauce. Here’s how.
Ingredients for Shrimp Cocktail:
- 2 pounds cooked, chilled shrimp
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons horseradish
- Dash Worcestershire sauce
Mix together ketchup, horseradish and finally Worcestershire sauce. Then refrigerate.
How about a fresh salad on the side, too?
Ingredients for salad:
- Romaine lettuce
- Red cabbage
- Green onions
